Tom gave me my next assignment. He e-mailed Bridget asking if he could assign me writing this weeks. She said it was alright because she didn't have a specific writing project picked out for me yet. The Krannert cCenter will be hosting the Kenedy Center American College Theatre Festival- Region 3 Festival in January of 2012. Tom e-mailed me informational websites. One for KCATF on a national level http://www.kcactf.org/KCACTF.ORG_NATIONAL/KCACTF.html and another that's Region III specific http://www.kcactf3.org/ The festival will be January 3-7, but preparations are already being made. This festival is a big deal. My first days at KCPA I was measuring rooms and taking inventory for workshop spaces for the festival. It's interesting to see how plans are developing and also to have a job that requires a little more research and reliability than simply taking measurments. I'm happy about it. I'd much rather write. Tom isn't entirely sure what documents he's going to need me to work on. For now I'm writing a press release, a document targeted to campus students, and a similar document geared towards local businesses. There may be more to come. It'll be writing a lot of the same stuff, but for different audiences. It'll be good practice in communications.
