Today was one of the most frustrating days I've ever had, and it didn't have to do with my internship at all! When I woke up this morning I couldn't find my car keys and after minutes of searching my brother had to take me to school and I ended up being late for first hour. I also didn't have any of my stuff including my backpack and my bag for my internship so all I came to school with was my jacket :(. Then during second hour we had a test (which I couldn't study for since I had none of my stuff!) And right when I started it I got a pass to go down and have a meeting for the Exchange Club so I ended up missing my test! Still no word on where my keys could've been so I was just really becoming down. After I made up the test my sister picked me up from school so I could go home and look for the keys and also do some things before I had to go to my internship at 3:30. When I got home I still couldn't find them and after lots of back and forth calls between me, my sister, and my dad (because he had the spare keys to my car), I finally got the spare set and rushed to my internship because I thought I was going to be late. Actually I was right on time but as soon as I walked in the front desk told me that the interviewee who was scheduled to come in so I could do my first solo interview wasn't coming in!! Turns out she was sick, so I just turned right back around and came back home. At 5:30 I went to the Champaign Library for the Community Cinema. This film was so inspiring; about a mother of 10 from the Democratic Republic of the Congo, who escaped prisoner camps to come to America and is now a powerful motivational speak and philanthropist. We also had a guest speaker from a Congolese professor at the U of I who also had an inspiring story and who was so inspirational. After the movie I just had to meet him because he was so motivating and an icon. When I got home the keys were sitting on the table and it turns out they were underneath one of the chairs in the living room. This day was so tiring I'm just glad it's over!
