3-10-11

This week was crazy. On Tuesday, after sending the invoices and a visitor's Guides to Clinton Chamber of Commerce, I came back to my desk and find my computer dead. To make matter worse, I was not able to keep working. Since all the important documents and information that Libby needed for that day was stuck in the computer. Then Elaine, Libby, and I spend over an hour trying to figure out what was wrong. Then we gave up and she decide to let me use someone else's computer. At that time, I did not know what to do or where to start. I was so confused that I spent the rest of the day drafting a letter for restaurants to allow us to place their email address in our bi-weekly newsletter. At the end of the day, Libby told me that she will be needing my work on Monday. Even though I was smiling, I was not happy hearing her saying that. During the whole conversation, I was thinking about redoing the whole project. Surprisingly when I got home, I was able to find my work since I emailed it to myself but forgot about it. I then felt so disappointed of my behavior. Not verifying if it was trully lost. Today when I got in the office, I found a new computer on my desk. I was so happy to go back to my desk and not have to be in someone else's space. I was able to email all the restaurants and attraction sites. I was glad that it was done, now I am looking forward to hear from them. On Monday, I have a meeting with Libby and I will have to show her all the work that I did this week and their progress, then she will give me a new project that I will be doing next week. Today, I made some phone calls. At some point, I felt like giving up and just emailing them, since some people were being rude. But I was able to calm myself and continue my work. This week has not been one of my favorite week by far but I still had some great moment. Now, I fell like I really fit in the office. Being the youngest of all, at first I was not sure of what was going to happen but now I realize that it will be hard and sad to say goodbye at the end of the internship. I hope that time goes by slow enough so I can learn more and just be surrounded by the workers.
