NEW PROJECT- 3/9/11

Today Shayla did not come into the office today. She was out so I asked Mr. Dodds to give me the project he was discussing with me earlier. Basically what I would be doing is looking through a list of corporate files and figuring out if they had completed their minutes and if they had their bylaws or operating agreements. This required me to pull each file on the list and look them up on our computer system's files to see if any of the documents were on the computer. If they did not show up then I had to manually look through the files for those documents. If the business did have their minutes or whatever then I would check them off and I was able to close them. If they did not then I would mark that down. Once I get through the entire list Mr. Dodds and I will work together on drafting letters that need to be sent to the companies telling them of their minutes or bylaws. This made me feel like I was getting more responsibility because this will be legit legal work (very basic however) that I will be working on. I know this is great experience for me because being able to say I have composed legal work, or just being familiar with the makings of these legal documents and files will help me out in the future.
