Well today was not the most exciting day spent at Follmer Law Offices but it did have several entertaining points. Kent has me working on a divorce case in which the husband is a millionaire and his wife of 3 months is attempting to get 50 percent of his stock ownership in his own company. It is a very interesting, yet odd case because both parties seem to have severe psychological issues, i.e. complusive lying, cheating, religious fervor, etc. My job is to read through a compilation of thousands of emails sent between the husband and wife and to make some sense out of them. It is extremely tedious because many of the emails contain absolutely no relevant information. However, some of them are very entertaining. About half of the pile contains emails in which the wife is calling the husband a petophile, as well as several other names I won't mention. Then the next one will contain a cheesy love poem written from one to another. It's pretty funny.
Today I got a little frustrated because after I had gone through about 500 of these email and organized them all into specific categories Kent called me into his office for a meeting. He told me that he needed me to reorganize the emails into 4 piles that were the most important to the case. So now I'm going to have to go back and completley undo all the work I have been doing for the past several days. It made me kind of angry but I understand that things are constantly changing in this field, especially in cases like this. The things that seem most important when you first look at the case can become the most irrelevant by the next day.
