This week I did not spend as much time with my sponsor when I did go to my placement. Instead, I shadowed my aunt who is a transporter at Carle Hospital. Doing such allowed to me explore many parts of Carle Hospital that I had never been to. I don't think I have ever realized how ginormous, yet my aunt know her way around the entire hospital (which is also apart of her job). Without her, I probably would have gotten lost, but I had her to lead the way. When we entered the ED or the emergency rooms floor, I noticed that it was pact with patients. So many that some patients were sitting out in the hallway. I can not imagine how long it took for some of them to be seen. But I may be wrong, the wait may not have taken a long time considering Carle is huge with many dedicated staff, to impact patient care.
