Week of 1/24/11 Interview with Dr. Muhammad

In awe, I watched Dr. Muhammad do his job. As I thought, "I have to interview him!", here's a brief summary of how it went (I shortened the responses)...
Q: How many years of schooling have you had?
A: I'm foreign, so the school is different in where. I'm from. But now I am doing my residency at the U of I
Q: What kind of doctor are you going to school to become?
A: I'm going into Internal Medicine.
Q: Have you always aspired to be a doctor?
A: My father was a doctor, which inspired me. They have decent salaries. I enjoy what I do now in residency
Q: Do you have a family to balance at home along with work or schooling?
A: Yes, and it isn't hard. What I do is not as time-demanding as say, someone in the surgical field because. They can call you to do a surgery anytime in the day or night. I have a pretty good lifestyle.
Q: What at the main specific science courses you've had to study?
A: Biology, Chemisty, and a little of Physics
Q: What do you think students going into the samething as you typically study in the their Undergrad.?
A: Biology
Q: What advice would you give to someone aspiring to follow in your footsteps in becoming a doctor?
A: Study hard, make sure you have a strong interest in what you'll be studying, in the end it's well worth it!
