Since I am finished with filing the Body Attachment files, I moved on to organizing the files that lacked Body Attachments and the old files that needed to be quashed. I alphabetized them all and put them into boxes, labeling exactly what each box contained. Once that was done I went to find Susan, when I did she told me that she was going to take a little trip to the Circuit Clerks office and that she wanted me to join her.
We went and transferred some files to the CC office, and then got some of the files that they needed to give to the Child Support Enforcement division. After that was done we went to Starbucks to have some coffee and talk a bit. I must admit that I kinda turned this little break into a full on interview in the disguise of a conversation, and I cant recall how long we were there but it must have been at least 45 minutes to an hour. We discussed all sorts of things; her opinion on being a lawyer, different law schools, undergrad, our families, stress, pros and cons of her position, advice for an aspiring lawyer, personal practice vs. a firm, etc. It gave me a lot to think about, and honestly I came out of the conversation slightly doubting my current career choice. Susan is a really open person and her opinions were honest, she was giving me that hard truth because the thought that I could handle it. Now I'm doubting that I actually can handle that.
All in all even though I was a little doubtful I did learn a lot about the field, and also Susan and I got to connect on a personal level which was really nice.
