I had to work at home today due to our blizzard-my sponsor had to stay at home with her daughter, and she told all of her interns not to come in (D). I'm still a little bit disappointed about the fact that two super fun events scheduled for yesterday got cancelled due to weather (F). I was originally going to go to Cookbook Club at the ARC kitchen with my sponsor yesterday afternoon, and then to a fuel stop for college athletes about crockpot meals later that night (D). However, because of the blizzard, both events were cancelled :( Hopefully I will get to attend more events like these at some point later in my internship, because I really enjoyed the last hands-on cooking demo I helped with (F)! I am discovering that I prefer actively doing something rather than just sitting down doing research all day (A). I don't mind doing research, but if that is all I do, then I start to get bored (F). Plus, I find all my research pointless if I can't share my knowledge with others (F). Anyway, today was just a work on project day, though. I found 2 healthy pasta salad recipes for a future fuel stop and typed them out (D). One thing that frustrated me today was trying to find out the nutritional info for one of the pasta salad recipes (F). To do this, I have to enter all the recipe ingredients into an online recipe nutrition calculator (D). The problem was that half the ingredients were measured by weight (oz./g), but all the foods to choose from on the calculator were measured by tbsp., tsp., cups, etc. Although making the proper conversions was a challenge, it helped me learn the importance of problem solving (A)!
