4/13

For the past few days I have been typing up Station Adjustment forms for Julia to send over to the Clerks office. She gave me about 15 police reports and explained what she wanted for me to do and then let me at it. Station Adjustment Forms are pretty simple, but time consuming. I can usually do about 4-5 per day (at best) and that's only when I can actually find the information requested.
I worked with police reports from Mahomet, Champaign, Urbana, and a few others. Each form is slightly different and each officer does his/her reports different so its kinda like a scavenger hunt where I read anywhere from 15-40 pages of information/narrative trying to find the select information I need. Once I compile all the information I summarize the event reported and then give the recommendation Julia has written on the report.
Although this is very tedious I actually enjoy it...its almost like a game of clue, and I really like clue.
I have learned a valuable lesson: SAVE YOUR WORK! After I would print out the form I would always reread it. A couple times I found mistakes and went back to fix it, the first time I didn't save the document after I printed it so I had to go back and retype the ENTIRE thing, setting me back about 10 minutes. I will definitely remember this from now on.
