4-14

It has been a pretty busy week so far. Monday Jenny informed me that Styx, a classic rock band, is down in sales. I decided I could help by making a small Facebook promotion/giveaway. After someone "likes" Assembly Hall on facebook, they have the chance to change their profile picture to a picture of their favorite Styx album. Whoever gets the most publicity off of their new profile picture has the chance to win a pair of tickets and a signed album from all members of Styx. It will be running from April 18-25, so participate if you want to win! Tuesday was reserved for a staff meeting between Jenny, Sue, and the other interns. We first discussed how surveys are getting difficult to do because the patrons are'nt interested in doing them. We decided to create an incentive for the surveys - Anyone who fills one out has a chance to win a giant banner of whatever concert they are at. Another interesting topic came up as well. It turns out that Facebook does not allow promotions that involve getting people to "like" our page. Seeing that all of our promotions require this, it is a possibiblity that Facebook could shut us down. This would be bad, considering it is one of our main sources of advertisments. Wednesday and today have been spent slaving away on recap sheets. I had to take all of the finances and money spent on the advertising plan for Thirty Seconds to Mars, Wiz Khalifa, and Cats. I then typed all of this into a spreadsheet to know how much total money was spent on radio, tv, flyers, and other forms of advertisement. I am excited for next week because I have three shows to attend!
